when pigs fly … expect the unbelievable

I am delighted to tell you that the Mississippi Air National Guard has promoted a woman, Catherine Smith Lutz, to Major General and she is the first female ever to lead the Mississippi Guard and the state’s first female general officer.  She grew up in Jackson.  Major General Lutz began her military service in 1982 as a flight nurse in the Air National Guard.  I’d really like to tell you more about General Lutz, but I had a great deal of difficulty tracing her down on the internet.  As I learn more about her, I will let you know.  But today, just sit back and think:  a woman is in charge!
